Mobile Mammography Services Available

According the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the
second most common cancer among American women, behind skin cancer,
and is the second leading cause of cancer deaths. The chance of
developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is
about 1 in 8 (12%). In 2009, it was estimated that 192,370 new
cases of invasive breast cancer would be diagnosed among women in
the United States.(1)
Most doctors feel that early detection tests for breast cancer
save many thousands of lives each year, and that many more lives
could be saved if even more women and their health care providers
took advantage of these tests.(2)
With busy schedules and on-the-go lifestyles, finding time to
schedule a mammogram can often be a challenge. The Lourdes Mission
in Motion program is pleased to offer Mobile Mammography services.
Our Mobile Mammography van visits remote areas and central
locations throughout our region, allowing you to schedule your next
mammogram at a location that's convenient for you.
Our Mobile Mammography van offers:
- Breast Exams
- Digital Mammography
- Pap Smears

- Screenings
- Education
- Pelvic Exams
|
Breast and cervical screenings are available for most women,
including:
- Those who have no current breast problems or
symptoms.
- Women who have had a prior biopsy which was benign.
- Women with a history of breast reduction surgery or
implants.
Mobile Mammography services are for both insured and uninsured
women. If you are without insurance, call the Cancer Services
Program first at 877-276-1019 to see if you qualify for a
no/low cost grant. The Cancer Services
Program is a New York State funded program that provides no
cost/low cost mammograms, pelvic exams, and pap tests.
