Camp Hope for Kids Accepting Registrations

Camp Hope for Kids is accepting registrations for the 2010
camp. Camp Hope is a day camp for children ages 6 - 14 who
have experienced the loss of a loved one. The camp helps
children cope with their loss through therapeutic activities like
making memory books and participating in healing circles. They
swim, hike, and play games while meeting other children who are
experiencing a similar loss. The camp is run by professional social
workers, teachers, and nurses who have experience working with
children and grief and loss. The camp was created by Lourdes
Hospice and Broome Oncology in 2007.
The camp will take place August 24 - 26 at Camp Sertoma, 459
Johnson Road, Kirkwood, NY. The hours are 9:00 AM - 4:00
PM. The camp is open to 40 children. Cost is $10 per child
and $5 for each additional child in the same family.
