Palliative Medicine Program Wins Quality Award

The
Lourdes Palliative Medicine Program was selected as a winner in the
2009 National Consensus Project Quality in Palliative Care
Leadership Award by the National Consensus Project Task Force. The
award recognizes excellence in palliative care for implementing
guidelines to promote the highest quality of palliative care. The
Lourdes Palliative Medicine program is one of only 9 programs
recognized in the United States.
The National Consensus Project Quality in Palliative Care
Leadership Award is presented annually to organizations which have
enhanced their palliative care services by implementing palliative
care principals set forth by the National Consensus Project for
Quality Palliative Care and the National Quality Forum.
On April 25th, Mary Shaller, MSN, CHPN attended the National
Hospice and Palliative Care meeting in Washington DC to make a
presentation about the Lourdes Program and to receive the award.
Lourdes Palliative Medicine Program received $2.500 as part of the
award.
