Clinical Advancement and Recognition
Program for Professional Nurses
In an effort to provide professional
nurses with opportunities for growth, development, and recognition
of achievement, Lourdes supports a Clinical Advancement and
Recognition Program. The program delineates five levels of
practice. Eligibility for and advancement within the levels is
dependent upon prerequisites and achievement of selected criteria
in the areas of clinical practice, education, leadership, and
research. These areas, as described in the Lourdes Philosophy of
Nursing, contribute to "...the high standards of the nursing
profession." The Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program
provides a framework for self-directed growth and advancement of
professional nurses.
The program promotes professional development and encourages
contribution to the organization. Whether it be in such forms as
committee involvement, certification in a specialty, leading of
community outreach programs or involvement in nursing research, the
creativity and knowledge of nurses at Lourdes Hospital is fostered
- to the ultimate benefit of the nurse, the hospital, and the
patient
