Lourdes Diagnostic Imaging Department is accredited by the
American College of Radiology and offers a full range of diagnostic
services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Working with board
certified radiologists from Millennium
Medical Imaging, PC, Diagnostic Imaging strives
for the highest level of patient satisfaction by delivering cost
effective health care, promoting health education, wellness and
preventative care..
Diagnostic Imaging includes several sub-sections of specialty
including:
- General Radiology, including x-ray, trauma and
fluoroscopy procedures
- Interventional Radiology, which assists in the
diagnosis and treatment of disease
- Ultrasound, which uses high
frequency sound waves to image various parts of the body.
- Breast Imaging, including mammography and
ultrasound
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI), which uses a large magnet, radiofrequency
signals and computers to produce magnetically generated
images.
- Computed Axial Tomography
(CT), which uses cross-sectional views to create a
multidimensional view of the body. This includes cardiac
scoring.
- Positron Emission
Tomography (PET) in which images demonstrate the
chemistry of organs and other tissues such as tumors
- Nuclear Medicine, which uses small amounts of
radioactive materials to document organ function and structure
